Decolonization is Not a Metaphor (with thanks to Tuck & Yang (2012)
Inspired by Tuck & Yang’s 2012 article, and my ever-increasing knowledge of my new-ish Pacific Northwest home, and by an old atlas I got at a garage sale somewhere, I made the above collage-and-plexiglass piece, then spontaneously entered it into the “Stand Up, Stand Out, Empower!” art contest sponsored by the University of Oregon Libraries, where it won “Best in Show.”
